September 12, 2026
EL RITO, N.M. — Friends of the El Rito Volunteer Fire Department has received a $36,000 donation from the Tres Semillas Foundation to purchase new extrication equipment for the El Rito Volunteer Fire Department.
The department has selected the extrication equipment that will be purchased with the donation. The new equipment will strengthen the resources available to local responders during vehicle crashes and other emergencies involving trapped or injured patients.
The Friends organization is deeply grateful to the Tres Semillas Foundation for this generous investment in the El Rito community. The donation will provide equipment that can make a meaningful difference when local firefighters and EMTs respond to serious emergencies.
The gift is an important early milestone for the Friends organization, a newly established nonprofit created to support the El Rito Volunteer Fire Department and the fire and emergency medical services it provides to the community.
The Friends organization provides individuals, foundations and businesses with a direct way to support fire and emergency medical services in El Rito. Through charitable donations, fundraising and grant opportunities, the organization can help provide equipment, training, community safety programs and other resources identified as priorities by the department.
This donation demonstrates the kind of partnership the Friends organization hopes to build between the department, the community and those who want to support emergency services in El Rito.
The Friends of the El Rito Volunteer Fire Department organization extends its sincere thanks to the Tres Semillas Foundation for its generous support of El Rito’s firefighters, EMTs and the community they serve.
